Shelco’s new MicroVantage™ pleated membrane cartridges are designed to meet the standards of a wide spectrum of industries. From our general grade pleated membranes designed for high purity applications at an economical cost to our integrity testable pharmaceutical grade membranes, these cartridges are manufactured to the most stringent production standards making them the new benchmark of the industry. Materials of construction are specifically chosen to match each application independently. The Shelco MicroVantage™ cartridge should be your choice when absolute retention is essential to the process.
Features And Specific Series Available
MA Series – GEN, General Grade
- The MicroVantage™ GENERAL Grade Series is available in a wide range of pore sizes.
- Each cartridge is rinsed with 17 megohm water to flush away any remaining manufacturing debris
- All materials of construction meet requirements of the FDA Title 21 of The Code of Federal Regulations
- Cartridges are designed for maximum throughput and particle retention at the lowest pressure drop
- Polyethersulfone, Nylon, and Polypropylene construction offers a wide range of compatibility
- Each cartridge is individually tested for integrity and is absolute at the rated pore size

MA Series – BEV, Beverage Grade
- The MicroVantage™ BEVERAGE Grade Series is available in a wide range of pore sizes.
- Each cartridge is rinsed with 17 megohm water to flush away any remaining manufacturing debris
and wash away any extractables that may effect performance, taste, foaming or brightness
- All BEVERAGE grade cartridges are validated using modified HIMA protocols at a challenge level of 10*6 organisms per cm² of filter media. (0.22 micron challenged with Pseudmonas diminuta) (0.45 micron Challenged with Serratia marscecens)
- All materials of construction meet requirements of the FDA Title 21 of The Code of Federal Regulations
- Cartridges are designed for maximum throughput and particle retention at the lowest pressure drop
- Polyethersulfone, Nylon, and Polypropylene construction offers a wide range of compatibility
- Each cartridge is individually tested for integrity and is absolute at the rated pore size
- Each assembly is validated to pass USP Class 6 Toxicology extractable tests for plastics

MA Series – ELECTRONIC, Electronic Grade
- The MicroVantage™ ELECTRONIC Grade Series is available in a wide range of pore sizes.
- Each cartridge is pulse, power flushed until the effluent reaches 17 megohm-cm and less than 3ppb TOC
and wash away any extractables that may effect performance, taste, foaming or brightness
- All ELECTRONIC grade cartridges are validated using modified HIMA protocols at a challenge level of 10*6 organisms per cm² of filter media. (0.22 micron challenged with Pseudmonas diminuta) (0.45 micron Challenged with Serratia marscecens)
- Cartridges are designed for maximum throughput and particle retention at the lowest pressure drop

MA Series – WGAS, Water Grade
- The MicroVantage™ WGAS Series is available in 0.1, 0.2 and 0.45 pore sizes.
- All materials of construction meet requirements of the FDA Title 21 of The Code of Federal Regulations
- Cartridges are designed for maximum throughput and particle retention at the lowest pressure drop
- Polyethersulfone construction offers a wide range of compatibility
- The WGAS cartridge is a non-flushed product with 6 ft² of media
- Advantages are excellent throughput and low pressure drop characteristics

Integrity Testing
This chart represents typical water flow @ 1 PSID per 10 cartridge length. The test fluid is water at ambient temperature. Extrapolation for multiple elements tends to be linear, but as flows increase the ÐP of the housing becomes more apparent.
